Pyridoxine is sold under the brand names Vitamin B6, Nestrex amongst others. However, this is a generic medicine and is sold OTC. It is made and sold by drug and food makers around the world. Merck and Dr Folkers first reported the structure in 1940. However, György and colleagues discovered Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) in 1934, and Samuel Lepovsky first isolated the active compound in 1938.

How does it work?

Pyridoxine from the vitamin B family of vitamins. The body makes amino acids, carbohydrates, and lipids using vitamin B6. It is also needed for muscle phosphorylase activity for glycogen metabolism.
