Busulfan:

Busulfan, also known under the popular company brand names of Myleran (GlaxoSmithKline) and Busulfex IV (Otsuka America Pharmaceutical Inc), is a medication used in cancer chemotherapy treatments. Busulfan was originally approved by the FDA in the United States for the treatment of chronic myeloid leukaemia in 1999. In which it remained the mainstay chemotherapeutic treatment until it was predominantly displaced by the drug imatinib. Busulfan, however, still is used to a degree as a result of the drug's relatively low cost. This has made it attractive to busulfan manufacturers and busulfan suppliers, as it has entered the generic drugs space. Currently, it can frequently be found on pharmaceutical for sale list of distributors across the global marketplace, where it is available to order wholesale at a variety of cost and price points.

Method of action of busulfan:

Busulfan belongs to a group of drugs termed alkylating agents. These contain 2 labile methanesulfonate groups attached to opposite ends of a 4-carbon alkyl chain. Post hydrolysation, the methanesulfonate groups are released and carbonium ions are produced. This causes the acylation of DNA, which intern results in interference of DNA replication and RNA transcription. Culminating in disruption of nucleic acid function. This mechanism of action is enabled through alkylation which produces guanine-adenine intrastrand crosslinks. These crosslinks occur through an SN2 reaction, with guanine N7 mediating a nucleophilic attack on the carbon adjacent to the mesylate leaving group. This causes damage to the cellular DNA that can not be repaired by cellular machinery, thus triggering the cell to undergo apoptosis.

Form and dosage of busulfan:

The final form and packaging of busulfan are dependent on the manufacturers and suppliers, as well as the specific distributors and order. However, busulfan can typically be found for wholesale in forms including a solution for infusion, tablets, solution for injection, ampules, and vials. The typical dose administered is highly dependent on the patient and the specific underlying indication. As such it will vary on a patient by patient basis. For further information please refer to the manufacturers’ literature or contact a relevant healthcare provider.

Busulfan on Pipelinepharma:

Currently, at the time of writing, we have found 7 verified busulfan manufacturers and busulfan suppliers from our online global list of B2B sellers. These manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors are located in various countries including Canada, India, and Turkey. Each company and their pharmaceutical products list displayed on our online B2B platform has been verified by the Pipelinepharma team. This ensures seller reputability and reduces sourcing mileage, allowing for a fluent business experience for all involved parties.

Price of Busulfan and how to buy:

A cursory search online reveals an approximate wholesale cost for busulfan to be £69.02 for 2 mg x 25 tablets, £1610.00 for 8 x 6 mg per 1 ml ampules, and £2157.52 for 8 x 6 mg per 1 ml. These values are indicated for the NHS in the UK. As such they are only intended to serve as a generalization of the current market conditions.

Although the prices on the B2B wholesale Pipelinepharma marketplace remain confidential between both B2B parties, the seller may choose to list the desired price to facilitate the online transaction. If so, an ‘Accept’ and ‘Negotiate’ button will be displayed through the online interface, with a ‘Get offer’ button being shown in the absence.
