Lacosamide
Lacosamide is a medication used in the adjunctive treatment of partial-onset seizures and diabetic neuropathic pain. It is used alone and in combination with other medications to control certain types of seizures in adults and children 4 years of age and older to prevent and control seizures. Lacosamide is in a class of medications called anticonvulsants or antiepileptic drugs. Amongst children, the usual recommended dose for kids between 11 kg and less than 30 kg is 6 mg to 12 mg per kilogram of body weight each day. And for kids who weigh more than 50 kg and higher, the usual initial dose is 50 mg, taken twice a day and can be increased as per the Doctor’s discretion.
