COFFEINE

Caffeine is a chemical, which naturally occurs in coffee, tea, and is commonly used in cola, guarana, mate, and other products. Caffeine is mainly used to improve mental alertness, but it has several other applications. Caffeine is used by mouth in foods or rectally in combination with painkillers like aspirin and acetaminophen. It is used in combination with ergotamine in treating migraine headaches. Caffeine is also used with painkillers to relieve simple headaches and treating headaches post epidural anesthesia. In some regions, it is also used in the treatment of asthma, gallbladder disease, attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder and many other conditions, however, these are yet to be scientifically studied and proved. Dosage and administration

In prevention of gallstone disease, the recommended dose is 400 mg or more, taken daily. For improving memory, the dose is 65-200 and for obesity, Ephedrine/caffeine combination are recommended at a 20 mg/200 mg dose, taken three times daily. For reducing pain, the recommended dose is 50-130 mg is used with pain relievers including acetaminophen, or ibuprofen.
