HMB – ß-hydroxy ß-methylbutyrate – is a natural metabolite of the essential branched chain amino acid L-leucine and plays a role in preventing muscle loss.

Improves muscle hypertrophy, strength and power as it increases protein synthesis and improves skeletal muscle regeneration. Improves skeletal muscle recovery and regeneration, in prolonged endurance or high-intensity exercises. Decreases markers of tissue damage caused by exercise. Improves muscle strength and performance. Improves the performance of aerobic muscle contraction and promotes fat loss in endurance athletes, due to its greater energy substrate properties and the improvement of energy metabolism. Increases strength (between 15-20%) and decreases fat mass (8%) after eight weeks in elite athletes, in conjunction with strength training. Increases fat loss and prevents the loss of muscle mass, in athletes who are on a calory restricted diet.
