CHLORZOXAZONE

Chlorzoxazone relieves stiffness and pain caused by muscle strains and sprains. It can be used in combination with physical therapy, analgesics, and rest. Chlorzoxazone seems to act at the spinal cord and subcortical levels of the brain. Dosage and administration:

Chlorzoxazone is sold as tablets of varying strengths. In the measures for musculoskeletal pain associated with acute musculoskeletal conditions, it is for adjunctive therapy to rest, physical therapy, and another Oral dosage. The initial adult dose is 250 to 500mg, given in 3 to 4 times per day. The usual recommended initial dose for painful musculoskeletal pains is 500 mg daily, in 3 to 4 doses. However, the older and weaker patients are given a lower dose. The recommended daily dose should not exceed 3000mg and for older patients, the maximum daily dose is 1000 mg a day. In general, patients with hepatic impairment are advised not to use this medicine or with the advice of the doctor. In the treatment of Muscle Spasm, the Usual initial Adult Dose is between 250 to 500 mg, taken orally, 3 to 4 times a day. If the standard dose does not provide, then it can be increased to 750mg.
